4/11/2006 10:09:00 PM|W|P|Keeba Smith|W|P|Ad to new home buyers seeking residency in Green Valley Ranch It is such a shame that my dad was in the military! I suppose I should be more dishonored of his acts while passing down those traits of respect and responsibility. (I just know he learned those traits in the military or worse yet, his own parents). Each and every doggone morning, my dad would stir his children from their restful sleep to pickup paper from both the front and back lawns. Each and every morning, he would stir his children to wake up from their nice, comfy slumber to pull weeds, clean the house, wash windows or something ‘nother. Anything! It seems as though he got a kick out of it. "You don’t see the neighbors house all dirty,’ he would say. "You live in a house, take some pride in it." I hated hearing his objections to our acts or the lack of thereof. (not sure which only that he preached often.) My dad was always a stickler when it came to any of his children. We had to remain inside his realm-inside his reach. We were not allowed to step foot on anyone's property as he just knew we would damage something; ANYTHING! My dad was always preaching: (TEACHING)

While growing up with my dad, I can recall him maintaining 4 jobs at once. Three jobs that took him away from the home and 1 job monitoring his 7 little crumb snatchers. Now, I can not say what his job performance was when he was at those 3 jobs, but at home, well, he did his job. Hence, we did ours.

For years, my dad preached respect and responsibility and for years, I grew tired of hearing it. Little did I know that it would rub off on me and carry on into my adult life.

I’m use to rules.

When I could no longer afford to live in the inner City, I felt forced to live in the suburbs. Accordingly, I moved to Green Valley Ranch where my realtor informed me that I would have to adhere to the rules of the association and property manager. Hey, no problem, right? I mean, I was born and raised with a dictator, I suppose I should have a handle on it by now, right? WRONG!

It seems that every time I have a problem that puts my property in danger, I contact my property management Company, and each and every time, they inform me that they are not able to assist me. Well, that’s how the cookie crumbles; I pay for something that I do not receive! Is that not the American way or what? (Welcome all newcomers, illegal soon to be exploited immigrants and all.)

I have an issue with my neighbor’s fence, they tell me it is not a problem while the damaged fence and my neighbors tree depreciates the value of my home.

A male figure at 4588 Flanders Way urinates OUTSIDE. Now tell me, would you desire to purchase a home where humans are allowed to use the outdoors for a public restroom? Don’t worry, it is not a problem as my property manager will not be able to help. Oh, and never mind if you have young children. You can be at ease that they are not on the net viewing naked adults, but could easily walk outside their home - receiving fresh air along with a view.

Kids destroy your property. Is it any wonder that Charles Martin took the law in his own hands? Again, I do not condone what he did, but do understand. (There is more to that story.)

Hence, I say everyone needs to move to the suburbs so that they too can enjoy ghetto life.

Pickup your neighbors debris every day you walk outside your home. No biggie as you may not be aware that it is your new non-paid job.

Yes, I live in Green Valley Ranch, Denver, CO!

Yes, I blame my parents for teaching me respect and responsibility.

Yes, I blame my parents for always preaching respect and responsibility.

Doggone responsible parents; I respect that they both lie in peace.

WELCOME!

Some people did NOT read what I wrote, so perhaps this will add some clarity: THE FACTS: I rode the bus for many years and continue to do so from time to time. "Gov. Owens is a coward." Indeed. Everyone knows there was and still is enough money for each of the REAL workers, but that is politics for you; it is a business. THE FACTS: My background: I have indeed worked for a Company that inquired me to work within confined and limited resources. Would I do it again? Yes, if I had to. If it meant food on my table, a roof over my head and clothes on my back. Why would I do so? Because it is what I have learned from my dad. (My dad worked 3 to 4 thankless jobs at once as means for survival for his family. My dad was a very responsible man) What wouldn’t YOU do to survive? I do not agree with the Head Honchos, just that I know how the game is played. And in fact, it is just that, A GAME. In my many years of experience, I have encountered many – TOO MANY- employers who went to bed each night in their comfy homes while their workers slaved day and night – night and day on thankless jobs. These workers barely had enough money to pay rent let alone purchase their own homes. These workers worked more than one job to survive. These workers could have indeed made a "commonsense," smart, wise decision to quit their jobs, but they knew if they did, they would not eat, etc = NO SURVIVAL. THE FACTS: Furthermore, my brother-thru-the-law USE to be an air traffic controller. Currently, well…. I will not inform as to what trials he faced when he lost his job. (Former president Reagan FIRED ALL of them.) In short, while I do agree that the RTD strikers have every right to be disgruntled, however, Owens mentioned the FORMER air traffic controllers when addressing the issue of the RTD strike. Therefore, the RTD picketers should get back to work before its too late. While I agree with their discontent, I will not agree, but will feel awful when they are faced with unemployment. AGAIN: I DO NOT work for RTD nor the govenors office, but speak from EXPERIENCE. *** Duh OWENS: "I think clearly that public employees have a public responsibility and I urge them to return to work immediately, and if not, and if this strike continues, I encourage RTD to consider privatizing even more of its bus routes. I think an appropriate model would be what President (Ronald) Reagan did when the air traffic controllers struck back in the early 1980's. *** AvStop Magazine Online Air Traffic Controllers Walk, President Reagan Fires PATCO Strickes The Theme, Anti Union August 17, 1981, Over 85 percent of the 17,500 air traffic controllers go on strike for better working conditions and improved wages. Ronald Reagan outraged with the strike informed the air traffic controller to return back to work or the government would assumed the striking controllers had quit. By the end of the week over 5,000 PATCO members (Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization) has received dismissal notices from the FAA. The Federal Courts ordered the union leader to send their works back to work. However, union leaders refused to do so. The courts began jailing union leaders, fining the union per day at close to one million dollars a day. The unions strike fund of more than 3 million dollars was frozen. This force the airline industry to cut back services of over 50 percent. Supervisors were required to fill those position left by the striking controllers. They were assisted by military controllers. Reagan called for a meeting with the press. Reagan stated to the press that Congress in 1947 passed a law forbidding strikes by Government employees. Reagan read aloud the non-strike oath that each air controller, and indeed any federal employee, must sign upon hiring. Reagan further stated the strikers are in violation of the law, and if they do not report for work within 48 hours, they have forfeited their jobs and will be terminated. Many of the PACO strike members did not return back to work and as a result were fired. |W|P|114426654382882210|W|P|RTD: RTD Protestors...RESPONSE|W|P|PiquedGirl23@yahoo.com4/04/2006 07:18:00 PM|W|P|Keeba Smith|W|P|RTD Protestors I only have a few words to the RTD strikers: I understand that you feel your working conditions are unfair and that you desire a better contract. I understand the head-honchos received a 47% raise, and I understand that you need not only a raise, but better medical benefits and so on. But what I do not understand, is how you can stand out there, and risk losing your bad contract, meager benefits on your low paying jobs. Dearest Strikers, you certainly have my sympathy, but I will feel pretty awful when you are applying for unemployment and even worse when the unemployment runs out. I will certainly be in pain that you will add to the list of the multiple unemployed people across the Nation who are unable to find a job. I do not know if you are aware that this current administration has made sure that securing a viable job is scarce. The reason the head-honchos received their raise prior to you workers, is because they are exactly that, HEAD HONCHOS. Once you are in those high paying positions, then you too can sleep comfortable at night when your workers are barely getting by. It sucks, I know, but that is the way of the world. Until you are in upper management, then you will have to bite it and keep on working laborious, disparaging jobs. A thankless job is better than no job at all. Again, get back to work before governor Owens reacts in a way that will have you removed from the picketing lines to the unemployment lines. And if you refuse to believe me, then ask the air traffic controllers who lost their jobs when Ronald Reagan was president. Note an air traffic controller takes years to educate, but only days to replace. My unsolicited advice to you, GO BACK TO WORK! Your customers relied on you; kids to school and workers to work. Please, do not lose your job, as I am sure the head-honchos and Owens are putting their head together in finding a way to replace you. GET BACK TO WORK, before its too late.|W|P|114420493472793490|W|P|RTD: RTD Protestors|W|P|PiquedGirl23@yahoo.com
